What is anxiety?
- Anxiety feels a bit like fear but whereas we know what we are frightened of, we often don’t know what we are anxious about.
- Anxiety is a normal, healthy emotions, and everyone experiences anxiety from time-to-time.
- Anxiety is a word we use to describe our feelings when we are uncomfortable or frightened.
- Anxiety is a chronic and exaggerated feeling of worry or tension, even if there is little or nothing to provoke it.
- Anxiety is defined as feelings of apprehension, danger, dread, uncertainty, accompanied by restlessness and tension.
- Anxiety is when you feel fearful and tense, for example if you are confronted by an angry person. It can also be a feeling of unease, for example during exams or worrying about an interview.
- Anxiety affects our whole being. It affects how we feel, how we behave and has very real physical symptoms.
Anxiety is not a mental illness!
- Anxiety is intense nervousness.
